I bet not many of you knew this, but honey should never be fed to a child under 12 months of age. This is because honey MAY contain botulism spores that could lead to botulism poisoning. This kind of botulism poisoning in adults is very unlikely in comparison to a child under 12 months of age, because the amount of botulism spores ingested by adults (if any) from honey is quite negligable as a result of their intestines being mature enough to diminish (by releasing acides) the toxins produced by the botulism bacteria. Just an interesting scrap of information I learned in Bio class one day. Oh, how I love Bio class, and this picture for reminding me of it! (both the botulism fact and loving Bio class) :D
